Distance Learning Training
IATA Training & Development Institute's distance learning programmes help individuals around the world to achieve their personal and professional objectives by providing them with more flexible learning opportunities. This is done by enabling individuals to study when and where it is most convenient for them.
The Programmes:
IATA International Cargo Agents Training Programme Aviation Programme How to Enroll in Aviation and Cargo Distance Learning Courses Registration for all aviation and cargo distance learning courses is valid for 18 months. Students may take only one examination per examination session, as examinations for all subjects are held on the same day. Students who fail at the first exam attempt are given a second chance to resit the exam at a later date, provided that this date is still within the registration period. Students who register and do not take the exam will be recorded as a no-show and will lose one exam attempt. Failing any exam twice will cause the enrolment to be cancelled. IATA distance learning courses deliver comprehensive instruction to busy aviation and travel industry professionals. Our training solutions are interactive, learner-friendly, and available in a variety of convenient formats. IATA International Cargo Agents Training Programme Description Outline Register Goals Under the leadership of IATA and FIATA (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Transitaires et Assimilées), the IATA/FIATA International Cargo Agents Training Programme has been developed and is updated by a team of cargo experts and training specialists to assist Cargo Agencies in meeting their obligations under the Resolutions.
The IATA/FIATA International Cargo Agents Training Programme consists of the following courses:
Cargo Introductory Course Air Cargo Rating Dangerous Goods Regulations - Initial Dangerous Goods Regulations - Recurrent Additional Information HOW THE COURSES WORK The IATA/FIATA training courses are based on a self-teach, independent study method. Each student is supplied with a training kit which includes all the manuals and publications required for the course. The student may register at any time. While the amount of study required will vary from student to student, about 100 hours per course is usually required to complete International Air Cargo Rating and Dangerous Goods Regulations. The Introductory Course requires approximately 200 hours. A good understanding of written English, world geography and basic mathematics is essential. Enrolment for the Dangerous Goods Regulations Courses is valid for 12 months. Enrolment for the other courses is valid for 18 months. Course fees include training materials and examination fee. They do not cover shipping costs of materials, nor any travel or personal expenses related to the examination. The fee is non-refundable. Unused training materials cannot be refunded or returned. EXAMINATION INFORMATION: All newly enrolled students will be automatically registered to sit their examination in the first eligible examination session. An Examination Confirmation Letter is included in each study kit. This letter specifies exactly which exam session has been registered per student. It also identifies the IATA Local Co-ordinator responsible for organising the examination session. NOTE: Students may be required to take examinations at an exam centre that is not in their home city or country of enrolment. All travel and personal expenses and travel documentation are the students' responsibility. The IATA Local Co-ordinator determines the exact date and location of the examination. IATA's Cargo Agency Conference Resolutions governing IATA Cargo Agencies stipulate that as a minimum, at least two full-time competent persons must hold the IATA/FIATA Introductory Course Diploma or have completed an equivalent course and must also hold a valid/current Dangerous Goods Certificate obtained from an IATA recognised establishment and/or course. The IATA International Cargo Agents Diploma has gained worldwide industry recognition as the premier qualification for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the air cargo forwarding industry.
